The city of Miami is allowing the financially struggling Bayside
Marketplace to pay only half of what it owes in unpaid rent. The
General Growth Properties-owned mall on Biscayne Boulevard owes the
city $500,000 after underpaying its rent between 1998 and 2000. In
addition, because General Growth is facing financial troubles, the city has asked the company for monthly financial reports.
