Cushman & Wakefield’s Florida Apartment Brokerage Services group
closed more than $110 million worth of deals statewide in 2008. The group,
based in Tampa, completed deals on 1,385 units at an average sale price
of $79,700, according to Byron Moger, executive director in Cushman & Wakefield’s
Tampa office. Multifamily
brokers said apartment owners increased activity and tried to close
no later than Dec. 31 to avoid higher taxes on sales gains.
