Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin may pay a political
price for her support of the Davie Commons development project. Critics
believe the 150-acre shops, office and hotel project east of Interstate
75 near Royal Palm Boulevard will cause traffic nightmares. Those
opponents, including Weston Mayor Eric Hersh, said Wasserman-Rubin’s
support for the project in a preliminary vote signals her support for
developers over her constituents. Hersh said he might run for her seat
in the 2010 election.
