Retail sales nationally fell 2.7 percent nationwide in December, according to retail sales numbers released today by commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle. The drop follows five consecutive months of retail sales declines, and retailers nationwide are trying to lower their rents as the recession continues. In November, overall retail sales fell 1.8 percent, following a 2.9 percent record drop in October. TRD
