Home builders on Thursday asked Governor Charlie Crist to veto a $190
million cut in the Sadowski Fund, a state pool of money for affordable
housing. The Florida Home Builders Association lobbied the governor in
Tallahassee, saying that their industry will lead the state out of the
economic crisis that forced legislators to plug a $2.3 billion revenue
hole during a special session on the state budget. Crist made no
commitment on restoring the fund.
