Port tunnel plans revived

The $1 billion Port of Miami tunnel project, canceled in December,
could be revived after Stephanie
Kopelousos, Florida’s transportation secretary, toured the area Sunday and discussed the possibility of
putting it back on track. The state would foot half the bill for the
project. French construction giant Bouygues Publics Travaux was set to build, finance,
operate and maintain the tunnel over a 35-year period, but financial
trouble prompted Kopelousos to shelve the project.
