Gig Steler, a well-known recreational vehicle dealer in Broward County,
said her proposed 74,000-square-foot superstore collapsed. The proposed
$10 million Planet RV at the site of the Deerfield Sports Complex was
supposed to be one of the nation’s largest indoor RV centers. Instead,
in the midst of the credit crisis, when her lender cut off floor plan
financing, Stetler said she lost a $140,000 non-refundable deposit,
$320,000 for eight months’ rent and more than $500,000 in unrecoverable
improvements. The property, near the southwest corner of Powerline Road
and Southwest 10th Street, is back on the market. Marisela Cotilla at Pineapple Realty is the
broker.
