Key hotel tax considered

The Monroe County Tourist Development Council passed a resolution
Tuesday urging an increase of the countywide ”bed” tax from four
cents to five cents for every $1 a hotel guest pays for a Florida Keys
hotel room. The increase would make up for revenue lost amid the travel downturn. A formal
vote has not yet been taken.
