The conflict over the proposed 152-acre Davie Commons shopping village will enter a new phase when the South Florida Regional Planning Council takes up the dispute today. The advisory board’s staff has recommended the council reject the sprawling project in west Davie until the developer resolves concerns over traffic congestion, compatibility and access. Aventura-based developer Turnberry Associates said the project will continue, despite a feud between Weston and Davie because the latter town refused to allow access to the site via Shotgun Road. But commercial real estate expert Jonathan Kingsley of Grubb & Ellis said the economy can’t support a project like Davie Commons for another five years.
