Both city and county leaders will vote on the $515 million baseball stadium for the Florida Marlins today, a last-innings political battle that could end Friday. Both city and county commissions have agreed in principle to fund the stadium, but must approve five separate contracts to unlock funding for the project. The total cost could be $1.8 billion over 40 years, based on increasing interest payments on the debt. Officials said a new park would create construction jobs during a weak period for the industry.
