The developer of the Marriot Ocean Village and Resort, a $100 million project on Johnson Street and State Road A1A in Hollywood Beach, has walked away from the project, city officials announced Friday. Ocean Properties, the developer, said the withdrawal was due to the recession. The developer also said it was unsure whether the city could afford to build the 1,600-space garage the city had promised to go with the 16-story hotel. The city will now look for other options for the site, city officials said.
