Palm Beach Gardens homebuilder Homes by Jones placed a construction lien on the $6 million, 12,543-square-foot mansion of the son of golf legend Jack Nicklaus. The majority of the construction is complete, but county record show a dispute between Steve Nicklaus and the building firm involving the buyer’s refusal to pay the last $1 million construction draw, and a subsequent lien imposed by Homes by Jones. Nicklaus’ attorney, David Shaw, couldn’t be reached for comment; Brad Eavenson, a lawyer for the builder, said Nicklaus hasn’t specified the problems with the project, as required by law.
