South Florida Construction Services, the firm hired to build the Spanish River Library in Boca Raton, will seek $14 million in damages when the case goes to court this year, the Boca Raton News reported. The company quit the construction job after suing the city for allegedly failing to pay for the work done and for refusing to grant an extension on the building’s completion. Fisk Electric, a project subcontractor, is also seeking $1.6 million from the project
architect, Harvard Jolly and Slattery and Associates. Boca Raton officials said the city disagrees with the contractor’s allegations. The case is currently set to be heard in April.
