Thousands of people lined up outside of the Housing Authority in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning — some as early as Friday night — to pick up applications for housing assistance. City officials handed out 3,000 applications, but only a maximum of 2,500 people can qualify for the housing assistance waiting list. Several fights reportedly took place at the site. CNN spoke to several people waiting in line.
