Representatives of the Village at Gulfstream Park, the developer seeking to build a $1.2 billion shopping center and entertainment complex, will ask the Halllandale Beach City Commission for a $900,000 tax break against future revenues to ensure it can pay off the project’s financing. Under the proposed agreement, the city’s contribution will be less if the project isn’t built, or doesn’t attract enough tenants. Project officials plan to announce the name of the shops and restaurant later this week. City officials at first did not support granting any incentives to the project, but City Manager Mike Good says the issue should be revisited, given the bad economy.
