Michael Patasnik, 61, of Tamarac was sentenced to 10 years in prison
last week for selling a home for disabled war veterans without
permission and keeping the money. Patasnik sold the home for $260,000
in 2004 and did not inform the owner, Ronald Timm. Even the alleged
purchaser, Lola Jones, was not aware the sale had taken place — her
daughter, Sharronda Jones, stole her identity in order to purchase the
home and received a three-year prison sentence in 2007. It was unclear whether Patasnik and Jones were co-conspirators. Patasnik
pleaded guilty to fraud charges in October and was sentenced Thursday.
