Boynton Beach commissioners
decided to drop negotiations yesterday with developer Auburn Group for the
proposed Heart of Boynton project. The project would have redeveloped 26 acres along
the Martin Luther King Jr. strip. Auburn had recently suggested scaling back
the project

to a $100 million development with 357 housing units, a grocery store and a
senior center. The original project was slated to include 700 housing units.
Boynton Beach officials and Auburn had disagreed over who would have to pay for
pre-project financial reviews.
