The Miami Herald has leased
50,000 square feet of office space in its building at One Herald Plaza in Miami,
which has been the newspaper’s headquarters since 1963, to Brown Mackie
College. The lease will help the newspaper deal with its debt, according to a
statement from Alan Kleber of Cushman & Wakefield, who brokered the deal
for the college. The 10-year lease is valued at $18 million to $20
million. The Herald was represented by Steve Hurwitz of Continental Real
Estate. The space will serve as the Miami campus of Brown Mackie, which had
been sharing space

with the Art Institute across the street from the Herald building. TRD
