Palm Beach ponders relaxed zoning

Businesses seeking to redevelop in the Royal Poinciana Way Business District may have an easier time of it after the Palm Beach Town Commission approved a study that could recommend less stringent zoning. The proposal could more than double the density of the area, from six homes per acre to as many as 13, and the proposed new zoning also loosens the ratio of retail square footage to parking spaces. The proposal could go back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for final approval in about three months.
