City commissioners are considering a revamped plan for Lake Worth’s 20-acre beach area that will increase green space and cut blacktop. Urban designer Michael Singer cited a city survey that wanted a greener beach area when he presented a plan that includes a bike path, shade structures and a promenade along the ocean. The plan will keep the 628 parking spaces and add event space and trails. The city plans to present it to Palm Beach County as part of its plan to retain $5 million in county grant money for the beach, which must be used by October.
