Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide filed notice with the state today that it will cut 176 jobs at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper in Fort Lauderdale, effective June 30. The 500-room hotel is closing for renovations and is scheduled to reopen in January 2010. The laid off employees will be given the option to apply for open positions in other Starwoods hotels.
