BankUnited attracts another suitor

New York private equity firm JC Flowers has entered the running for Coral Gables-based BankUnited, the troubled bank facing a federal regulatory deadline to raise more capital or find a buyer by May 14. BankUnited, the largest Florida-based financial institution, has attracted interest from WL Ross & Co., with the Carlyle Group and Blackstone Group. TD Bank has also been mentioned as a possible bidder.
