A trio of alleged mortgage fraudsters in Broward County were bound by crime and family ties, according to prosecutors who indicted a Miami Gardens pastor, his wife and his brother, a Miami Fire Rescue captain. Garry Souffrant, 33, wife Yvonne Souffrant, 33, and brother Gamaliel Souffrant, 43, were charged with laundering drug dealer profits and defrauding banks. Garry Souffrant was also indicted on conspiring to possess and distribute cocaine. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael ”Pat” Sullivan said they used a brokerage company called Progressive Real Estate of Broward as a front for drug money transactions.
