Buyers should check building finances, brokers say

While falling prices in Palm Beach and Broward counties have put plenty of condos on the market below $100,000, price alone doesn’t make it a good buy, market experts warn. Lisa McKeon, who handles sales and leasing at the Whitney, a condo development near CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach, said a buyer must assess the financial condition of the condo complex before buying a unit. Shabby finances could add to financing costs and high association fees.
