The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office has cleared Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones of accusations that she accepted bribes related to two residential projects. Spence-Jones cast the deciding vote in favor of the Related Group’s Grove Bay Residences project on land owned by Mercy Hospital, and the investigation found no evidence of payments made to the commissioner for her support. Spence-Jones also supported the Crosswinds project, which would have redeveloped county land in Overtown.
