Latin American trade and a halt to new inventory mean the Miami-Dade County industrial market can still point to ongoing deal flow despite the stagnation of some aspects of the market. Colliers Abood Wood-Fay reported that only 86,000 new square feet of space is under construction, and the pause may grant the market a reprieve that lets it take up unused inventory. South American economies have been hit less severely in the global recession and are still an important factor in the area’s foreign trade, the brokerage said.
