Miami’s Planning Advisory Board voted 8-0 against the city’s plans for Virginia Key island. The board’s members had criticized the plan for promoting commercial development rather than conservation. The city’s waterfront board also voted unanimously against the plan last week. The City Commission will hear the proposal June 25.
