The state supreme court overturned a law that would allow voters to revoke their signatures on proposed constitutional amendment petitions. It was seen as a win for Florida Hometown Democracy, an activist group that wants to alter the state constitution to require voter approval for changes to local comprehensive plans, which affect building, development and land use. John Sebree, vice president of public policy for the Florida Association of Realtors, said many realtors, and his organization, are part of Floridians for Smart Growth, which opposed the local plan referendum requirement.
