Sports figures take bus tour to raise awareness of foreclosure assistance

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and former Heat player Alonzo Mourning took a bus tour around South Florida yesterday to raise awareness of free foreclosure assistance. The bus tour was meant to alert homeowners facing foreclosure of the availability of non-profit assistance groups such as the Hope Now Alliance. Many of the people Hope Now aims to help refuse to accept the organization’s aid because they are embarrassed or mistrustful, said Larry Gilmore, director of the group. Gilmore said the organization hopes that bringing in respected figures like Wade and Mourning will help raise awareness and acceptance of the group.
