Delray Beach city government wants to take advantage of federal money to help build a new fire station, following the lead of neighboring Boca Raton, which this week selected a contractor for a similar project. Design consultant Currie Sowards Aguila will help the city prepare its application for a fire station construction grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Linton Boulevard station is obsolete and the $15 million available in federal assistance could help with its replacement, said Danielle Connor, acting assistant chief of administration for the Delray Fire-Rescue Department.
