Palm Beach County expected to raise property taxes

Palm Beach County Commissioners are expected to approve a 14.8 percent increase in property taxes today. Commissioners said last week that they would set the tax rate for the county at $4.34 per each $1,000 of taxable property value. The commission’s approval would set that amount as the maximum rate the county could charge when it sends out tax bills later this year, but the county would also still be able to charge a lower rate.
