Marcus & Millichap names new vice presidents

The board of directors of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment
Services has named Demosthenes Mekras, Mark Wohl and Alex Zylberglait vice presidents for investments in the Miami office. Mekras began his career with Marcus & Millichap in 2003 and specializes in the saleof multi-family properties. Wohl began his career in 2001 and specializes in hospitality properties. Zylberglait started working with the company in 2003 and specializes in the sale of office and industrial properties. In the Marcus & Millichap Fort Lauderdale office, Michael Zimmerman has also been appointed vice president for investments. He started working with the company in 2004 and specializes in brokering the sale of retail properties.

First phase of construction at Riverbend Village to start this fall

Amera Barron Companies announced the start of a new phase of construction at the Riverbend, slated for fall 2009. The new phase, Riverbend Village, will be comprised of 50 acres of office, retail and residential developments on the south side of Broward Boulevard. Plans for the corporate village include a 2-acre lake and perimeter landscaping. At its completion, Riverbend will have a mix of 3.8 million square feet of office space, 800,000 square feet of retail space, 550 hotel rooms and 1,250 residences.

Cushman & Wakefield arranges nine office lease transactions

Cushman & Wakefield announced that its Miami tenant advisory team, led by senior directors Alan Kleber and John Marshall, has arranged nine office lease transactions totaling more than 116,000 square feet. The largest transaction was a lease restructuring and long-term extension signed by Berenfield, Spritzer, Schecter & Sheer for 33,428 square feet at 2525 Ponce de Leon Boulevard. The second largest lease was a renewal signed by Johnson & Johnson for 19,561 square feet at 6303 Blue Lagoon Drive in the Waterford Corporate Park. The third largest office lease was signed by Club Med for 13,200 square feet at the same location. TRD
