Cancer cluster fears hurting deals

Concern about a possible cancer cluster in the Acreage community in Palm Beach County is hurting real estate transactions in the area, the Palm Beach Post reported. One bank allegedly refused a mortgage because of cancer cluster worries, and local brokers said buyers have withdrawn from deals. The Florida Department of Health is supposed to announce by the end of August whether there is a brain cancer cluster in the Acreage community. Some residents believe environmental contamination may have caused a cancer cluster.
