Energy efficient home products are selling beyond expectations in Florida, even in the midst of the recession, thanks to federal and state tax breaks and other rebates. Air conditioners, windows, doors, furnaces and water heaters are among the products that could qualify for tax credits, up to a maximum of $1,500 total, under federal stimulus laws. A separate tax credit also gives homeowners a discount of up to 30 percent on solar energy systems.
