Chinese drywall not radioactive

It may smell terrible and corrode metal fixtures, but Floridians and other homeowners whose houses have tainted Chinese drywall don’t have to worry about setting off Geiger counters. State and federal officials tested panels for phosphogypsum, or calcium sulfate, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Florida Department of Health said radioactive levels were no higher than what ordinarily would be found in the natural environment. There are still about 1,100 complaints under investigation.
