Medical center breaks ground

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center will have its new emergency room, despite the grim economic climate. The $13.6 million, 17-month project is breaking ground and will more than double the area of the emergency room unit, to 15,000 square feet. Medical Center CEO Dave Pettit said the project had been in the works long before the recession started, but is as needed today as it was during the economic boom.
