Appeals pour in from condo associations

Property tax appeals are mounting, and condo associations are taking up the cause of unit owners. Miami-based law firm Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod’s Real Estate Group partnered with Mitchell Feldman to form FBS Property Tax Abatement to handle the surge in appeals. Jim Shindell, the group’s chair, said at least 35 condo associations are now clients, and he expects the number to rise. Most are from Miami-Dade, followed by Broward County and a few in Palm Beach County.
