Students in the some of the sunniest states, including Florida, are requesting more tanning facilities in their housing, student housing operators say. Campus Apartments, which controls 24,000 beds in student residences around the country, is adding stand-up tanning machines to its housing, phasing out tanning beds. Stand-up machines are faster, said Campus Apartments CEO David Adelman, and students consider them more sanitary.
