Gary Agnello says boards need to be tough

Gary Agnello, 30-year veteran property manager, says tough times call for tough board members on Florida home associations and condo associations. When residents are in trouble, they often duck behind boards, and unless they are met stern responses, the entire association suffers. Agnello, who is currently serving as the Land of Presidents II Condominium association in West Palm Beach, said already battered associations often compound their problems by sloppy bookkeeping. That’s been a boon to Miami-based Association Financial Services, which is often called upon to clean up the mess.
