South Florida hotels that once relied on business travelers are scrambling to lure vacationers from traditional regional travel spots. The InterContinental Hotel West in Doral is spiffing up its swimming pool, and it and other chains are putting their rooms on Expedia, Orbitz and other Web sites popular with vacationers looking for bargains. Even with a 20 percent cut for the online booking site, chains say the move is worth it because it keeps otherwise empty rooms full. The Four Seasons Miami reported that leisure bookings now account for more than 30 percent of business at the hotel, up from about 20 percent two years ago.
