Despite collapse, developers push to expand

Builders in Palm Beach County have filed permits to build nearly 1,600 new houses on undeveloped land throughout the county. The county commission will vote on the requests, which are scattered over six different parcels of land from Lake Worth to Royal Palm Beach, in November. The requests are subject to state approval from the Department of Community Affairs.
