Mortgage scammer sentenced

Adriana Cruz, 27, of Miami, received a 15-month prison term for her role in a $1 million mortgage fraud scheme. She will also have 36 months of probation after her release. Cruz pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit bank fraud when she helped submit fraudulent loan applications simultaneously to both Bank of America and Wachovia. She has restitution costs of $796,701 as well.
