As declining state revenues continue to plague Florida, funding for community projects has been put on hold for the third straight year. In a memo this morning, state House Speaker Larry Cretul of Ocala told lawmakers that budget constraints will again prevent local project proposals from becoming reality through government financing, and that they will not be able to request funds this year. “We again hope to avoid creating unrealistic funding expectations in our communities given the continuing decline in expected state revenues,” Cretul wrote.
