Gas pipeline quashed in vote

The Florida Public Service Commission unanimously rejected a Florida Power & Light proposal for a 300-mile natural gas pipeline running from Palm Beach County to Bradford County, a project that would have affected thousands of properties and businesses during its construction. The state officials said FP&L wasn’t able to make a case that the pipeline, which was to have run through 14 counties, was the cheapest and most reliable source of natural gas, though they said supply issues were a concern.
