Lower property values, a weak dollar and plenty of inventory have encouraged a wave of overseas buyers to pony up for Florida real estate. Jennifer Howard, an agent in Destin, said overseas interest has picked up since late spring. She added that a new airport in the city will help accommodate more foreign visitors. An easing in credit has also made it more viable for foreign buyers to finance their purchases, said Patricia Tan, international sales director at Prudential Palms Realty in Sarasota. [NYT]
