Flagler Title owners bilked $10 million, feds say

Missing Royal Palm Beach residents Roger Gamblin, 61, and Peggy Gamblin, 53, allegedly took $10 million from client escrow accounts at their title insurance company, according to federal prosecutors, who indicted the couple on fraud charges Tuesday. The Gamblins allegedly vanished in May 2008, just before employees of their Flagler Title Co. revealed that business had fallen off by more than 70 percent per month. Prosecutors said Roger Gamblin took out a $500,000 mortgage on his West Palm Beach house in April, which has not been repaid, and SunTrust Banks has since sued to foreclose, ADD ATTRIBUTION HERE. Chicago Title Insurance Co., Flagler’s underwriter, has paid out more than $5 million in claims since the Gamblins left town. [Palm Beach Post]
