Town-owned property on the Intracoastal Waterway could become the site of an artist village, shipwrecks, or a water taxi stop and kayak rental kiosk if plans from any of the site’s potential developers move forward. Five applicants want to build on a one-acre parcel next to Guanabanas restaurant on the west side of State Road A1A. The Coastal Historic Undersea Management Society wants to build a miniature replica of the Celestial Railroad, which ran between 1889 and 1895, and put up shipwreck displays. Developer Nick Mastroianni, who is also heading the Harbourside project, wants to build a family-oriented village project. City officials are currently considering the proposals and will offer an opinion this week. [Palm Beach Post]
