The Palm Beach Town Council vetoed plans that would allow the Palm Beach Oceanfront Inn to tear down the existing two-story motel and build a 10-story luxury hotel on the site. The project would have required changes to South Palm Beach’s comprehensive plan, and was to be sent to the Florida Department of Community Affairs for further review until the 3-2 vote laid it to rest. Opponents cited the plan’s vagueness and the insufficient size of the proposed lot. [Palm Beach Daily News]
