The office of Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum is suing a pair of
Palm Beach County-based timeshare resale marketing companies for
collecting $4 million per month in marketing fees while making little
effort to actually sell the units. Universal Marketing Solutions and
Creative Vacation Solutions were solicited hundreds of customers
through the Web and telemarketing, the attorney general’s office said,
and operating out of offices in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. The
companies promised to match timeshare sellers with buyers, but never
followed through. The suit seeks restitution for customers as well as
civil penalties and reimbursement for the costs of the investigation. [Palm Beach Post]
