The St. Petersburg Beach hotel Villas CeSar will be managed by Miami-based Desires Hotels when it opens in June 2010, the company announced. Originally planned as an 18-unit luxury condominium complex, developer St. Pete Beach Properties decided to operate the project as a hotel about six months ago. Suarez Financial Group, St. Pete’s corporate parent, was founded by Henry Suarez, the principal owner of the hotel. Rooms are slated to start at $229 a night. [SFBJ]
